 Renzo & Shanga, when they were still together...

When Shanga was 1 1/2 years old, I got the idea to breed with her. The choice to breed with her was easy made after  her nice showresults, but most of all because of her ideal character. Shanga is a very pleasant dog to live with. Enthusiastic, always friendly with other dogs, children, grown ups etc. She is always happy and enjoys life very much.

After long thinking about a kennelname a friend told me about the name "SHAYELA". I liked it immediately. It means "it runs like a train."

I filled in all the forms and in february 2003 "SHAYELA" Rhodesian Ridgebacks was a fact.

Our kennel is registred at the Dutch Kennelclub, we are a member of the Dutch Rhodesian Ridgeback Club and we only breed by the Code of Ethics.

We always raise our litters in the livingroom and spent a lot of time on socialisation, which means daily visits of adults and children, meeting other dogbreeds, meeting other animals (cats, bunnies, chickens, horses), going to school to meet children of all ages, going to the shoppingmall, to the market, to the woods, getting them used to traffic, driving in the car and walking on a leash.

We expect from our puppy-owners to keep in touch with us and we love to receive pictures, emails, phonecalls etc. about the progress of their dogs, when they are a puppy but also at adult age!

I am a certificated dogtrainer and own my own dogschool. I am happy to advice you 24/7 about raising your puppy!

I hope that my dogs and me can deliver a usefull and pleasant addition to the Ridgeback population, now and in the future.
